"I have always been fascinated by the contrasts in the world around me – light and shadow, and form and texture. But most of all, I marvel at the way sunlight plays on ordinary objects and transforms them to a reflection of the Creator. I strive to capture that Divine nature in my art." "I enjoy working in several media, each one is satisfying to work with and has its own characteristics that are appealing. Watercolor and colored pencil are full of the energy of color. The texture that is achieved with pen and ink is striking. The delicate smoothness that can be achieved with graphite pencil accentuates light and shadow." "God has truly blessed me through art these last few years as I have been studying and learning. Drawing and painting are becoming more and more an integral part of who I am." In 1998 Valda Robison began to fulfill her long-held desire to draw and paint, and spent the next five years studying art, focusing on drawing and watercolor. In 2003 she joined a local art association and in the Spring of 2004 entered her first juried show, winning an Award of Merit for her overall art. She has since been accepted in several juried shows in the Kansas City metro area.
“I am blessed by the support and
encouragement of my family and friends,
Valda and her husband reside in Overland Park, Kansas. They are active in their local church, being especially interested in the mission work of the church.
